Our skin naturally renews itself every few weeks; however, this process can change with age, environmental exposure, and other factors. Skin peels use acids or active compounds to assist with the removal of surface skin cells, which may contribute to changes in the appearance of skin texture and tone over time. Individual responses will vary.
Depending on the formulation, some peels address surface skin cells, while others work at deeper levels of the epidermis and may be considered for concerns such as congestion, the appearance of pigmentation irregularities, or uneven skin tone. All plans are individually customised following a medical and skin assessment.
How It Works Skin Peels
A skin peel involves the controlled application of a chemical solution that interacts with the outermost layers of the skin, assisting with the shedding of surface skin cells.
Different types of peels vary in depth, composition, and recovery time. Lighter peels address surface skin cells, while stronger formulations—available only in clinical settings—may target deeper skin layers.
All treatments are selected based on your unique skin needs, medical history, and concerns discussed during consultation.
What to Expect During a Peel
Before the Peel:
Your skin will be cleansed, and any makeup or products removed.
A protective barrier may be applied around sensitive areas such as the eyes and mouth.
During the Peel:
The peel solution is applied evenly to the skin and left in place for a specific duration, depending on the formulation and desired depth.
You may experience tingling or warmth.
After the Peel:
The peel will either be neutralised or left to self-neutralise.
Post-treatment serums or balms may be applied to soothe the skin and support healing.
Aftercare and Recovery
After your treatment, you will receive a personalised aftercare plan.
