An exciting new technology in skin rejuvenation now offered in clinic!
If you’ve been looking in the mirror lately and are seeing the effects of age, the sun or stress adding to the wrinkles on your forehead, the frown lines on your face, the crowfeet around your eyes, or you’re just plain tired of looking tired, knowing where to look and who to talk to can be baffling.
Maybe you’ve decided you want to start seeing a new you staring back from the mirror in 2021 but would like to seek the specialist advice of a medical professional when it comes to options other than anti-wrinkle injections.
If this sounds like you, and you’re not sure where to start when it comes to cosmetic dermatology then Dr Scott’s new Tixel technology is a great first step on your skin rejuvenation journey!
What is Tixel?
Tixel is an energy-based device that uses pure radiant heat to rejuvenate the skin, reduce skin laxity and restore the dermal signs of ageing. It is safe for the entire face (including the eyelids), all skin types and all body areas.
How does Tixel work?
Tixel uses heat and pressure (as opposed to laser, light or plasma) to stimulate collagen induction and dermal remodelling in the skin.
Dermal remodelling refers to a series of skin treatments that focus on restoring skin health from the living layer of skin known as the “dermis“. By treating this middle, living layer of skin you ensure long-lasting results as the skin doesn’t just look healthier, it is healthier as you are treating the root causes of your skin problems inside and out.
Tixel skin tightening treatment is the very latest cosmetic dermatology technology on the market and represents a quantum leap forward in this type of treatment.
What does it treat?
- Fine lines & wrinkles: Tixel treatment helps smooth out fine lines and wrinkles by using thermal energy to stimulate collagen production. This non-invasive procedure can result in firmer, more youthful-looking skin without the need for surgery or lengthy downtime.
- Non-surgical eye rejuvenation: Tixel is an effective option for non-surgical eye rejuvenation, targeting delicate areas around the eyes to reduce crow’s feet and tighten sagging skin. It provides a gentle yet powerful solution to refresh and brighten the eye area without invasive procedures.
- Acne scarring: Tixel treatment is beneficial for minimizing acne scarring by resurfacing the skin and promoting natural healing processes. The thermal energy works to remodel scar tissue, leading to smoother, clearer skin over time.
- Rosacea: Tixel can help reduce the appearance of rosacea by calming inflammation and improving skin texture. It offers a gentle, non-invasive approach to managing redness and flare-ups, making the complexion more balanced and even.
- Dull complexion: For those with a dull complexion, Tixel treatment stimulates skin renewal by encouraging cell turnover and enhancing blood circulation. The result is a more radiant, glowing skin tone with improved texture and vitality.
What is the downtime?
The skin will be warm and red for a few hours after the treatment. Eyelid treatment leaves the lids slightly swollen for 2-3 days, but makeup can be applied after 24 hours. The redness has generally settled by day 3 at which time the skin becomes dry and sandpapery. This can last up to a week after treatment.
What is the recommended treatment plan?
The initial treatment regimen is 3 sessions, 6 weeks apart. We advise a top-up treatment every 12 months.
What is the cost?
Pricing depends on the treatment area:
- Non-surgical eye rejuvenation: $350
- Full face: $600
- Face & neck: $700
- Face, neck & decolletage: $850
